What I got for Christmas

December 26, 2015
Merry Christmas, everyone! In our family, there is an on-going tradition of doing absolutely nothing on Christmas day because (1) we go to sleep super late at night, (2) my sisters don't go to sleep at all and therefore wake up at crazy hours of the night (like, 3am) to open up their presents, and (3) my uncles come to our house to bring their presents. So, there's no reason to go outside (in addition to knowing that almost no store is open so we just chill and listen to Puerto Rican music)! Today, since all the hype is down low and we're chilling even more, I wanted to share the things I got from Santa Claus this year. So, without further ado, I will just get on with it because I'm too excited to keep explaining.

1. It has dawn upon me that I should start looking for a signature scent that I could rely on and buy continuously whilst never getting tired of it. I decided to ask Santa for Elizabeth and James' Nirvana White perfume. The scent is so glorious; it's floral but sophisticated, if that makes sense. It doesn't smell like a grandma or a serious business woman; it smells like a dedicated minimalist who also enjoys fashion and going to art museums. That's kinda the best description of the scent, to be honest, and that's the life I want to pursue.

2. I got the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, which I actually asked Santa for with, like, months in advance. I've wanted some contouring shades to create a really simple but structured everyday look since ages ago but I'm poor so it's been really delayed. I'm super stocked about this palette thingie but now I need to learn how to use it because I'm kind of an amateur when it comes to contour.

3. I also got some Morphe brushes that I had been wanting since a long time ago, but I didn't really got them for Christmas (since I had bought them as a birthday gift and only just received them two days before Christmas). I bought the E27, M433 and M173. I have only used them once but, my initial and very limited review about them is that they are the softest makeup brushes I have ever used, and the E27 blends the shadows so nicely, it's insane.

4. I received a cute little tan, beaded cross-body bag from my uncle's girlfriend, along with a gift card from Forever 21 which I'm so excited about. Additionally, I also got cash from my grandma. I'm very excited about this extra money because I've wanted to go shopping for clothing since before my birthday (when I bought a couple of clothing items) so I'm very excited to go window shopping again and actually buying something... which reminds me...

I also made some damage to my bank account when I first landed here at home (because, btw, I'm already back home in Puerto Rico for the holidays!). I bought some things for tea (because lately I've been into drinking tea?) and a couple of accessories that I've wanted so I think I'll be sharing what I got with you guys on a separate post with pictures and stuff. But, for now, this is it. I hope you had a lovely Christmas (and that Santa was good to you)!

xx, Merry Christmas!
