<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7YdL6XlxS0U/WJjj5rNmVuI/AAAAAAAABWo/wP4tbstRT5M2eGyWNA-4vIAWKxuoqYiZwCLcB/s1600/IMG_0046.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><span style="color: black; font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7YdL6XlxS0U/WJjj5rNmVuI/AAAAAAAABWo/wP4tbstRT5M2eGyWNA-4vIAWKxuoqYiZwCLcB/s1600/IMG_0046.JPG" /></span></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"> There's so many things I've been postponing and delaying lately. There's actually an official term for this: <i>PROCRASTINATION</i>. I don't know why I've been consumed so deeply into just pushing my things aside to do other things that aren't really productive (like taking naps, taking <i>looong</i> showers, playing <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gardenscapes-new-acres/id1105855019?mt=8">games</a>, etc) but it's taking an effect on my social and academic life, that's for sure. So, in order to bring balance once again into my life and just get a sense of the things that have been going on in my mind, I want to make this virtual checklist of the things I want to do in the near future, and the things that have been happening.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">+ First of all, I haven't posted anything in a week. I completely fail at punctuality. The truth is, because I've been delaying all of these things (including college work), I haven't had time to come up with posts + take pictures + post + promote.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">From now on, I will try to post on <b>Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am EST</b>, as an effort to become more responsible and active!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dntRT6AvDdg/WJjj59g2NPI/AAAAAAAABW0/soEAtBv-iUszhSz1RTasTj1dWE5wnFaDACLcB/s1600/IMG_0049.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span style="color: black; font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dntRT6AvDdg/WJjj59g2NPI/AAAAAAAABW0/soEAtBv-iUszhSz1RTasTj1dWE5wnFaDACLcB/s400/IMG_0049.JPG" width="266" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">+ Another aspect of this blogging journey that I haven't really explored or engaged in is promotion. I fail at social media; I haven't used my personal Instagram in about 6 or so months. It's a miracle the Twitter page for this blog is even active and that's because Bloglovin' is amazing and does the posting for me. But, I seek to create an account where I can reach out to my readers (if there are any, lol) and make every post count. So, watch out for a link to a new Instagram account dedicated to this blog!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">+ I really wish I could edit my blog so that it has a nice custom home page with a calendar and everything. I'm still learning how to do this so I guess I'm just warning you of new changes to come for the layout of the page. Of course, this won't happen nowhere near now but I'm just saying.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">+ Even though I've been studying and busy lately, I still find some time to educate myself on the happenings of the world. I preordered BTS's new comeback CD directly from Korea and I'm a little disappointed in this only because I <i>know</i> it will arrive to my hands much later than actually going to K-town a few days after the release. But, by preordering it, I'm guaranteed some extra merchandise so even though I'm disappointed, I'm excited. (But, don't get me started on shipping costs wth)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">+ I found out about the KonMari method of tidying a few days ago and have been obsessed ever since. I have a big obsession with simplicity and minimalism and the KonMari method is just up my alley. I think it is very religious; dare I say, vey buddhist? There's this element of detachment and letting go of the things you don't need in your life because they don't bring happiness, which I think is a great concept to consider when tidying up (even though I am not buddhist).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: xx-small;"><i>The KonMari method is inspired by Japanese culture, since it was created my Marie Kondo who is Japanese. I've been so intrigued by the Japanese lifestyle lately because it is very simple and they try to maintain everything minimal. Even the fashion is this way and I'm all up for it. So, needless to say, I'm fortunate to be learning Japanese these days because Tokyo 2020 hell yeah.</i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AIQo9oSHd14/WJjj5kPQsdI/AAAAAAAABWs/-2jGu-oO7vwQ4PBfZxOnQ9GqSnlWL84lgCLcB/s1600/IMG_0045.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><span style="color: black; font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AIQo9oSHd14/WJjj5kPQsdI/AAAAAAAABWs/-2jGu-oO7vwQ4PBfZxOnQ9GqSnlWL84lgCLcB/s1600/IMG_0045.JPG" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">+ That being said, I was also intrigued by how the Japanese interpret this into their beauty regimes. Turns out, J-beauty is like a concoction of K-beauty and F-beauty and, if you know me, you'll know that this looks like the thing I've always wanted. The ideal is simplistic, using ancient products that have a long history of being effective, but incorporating elements such as sheet masks and essences to achieve healthy looking skin, while caring and paying attention to the needs of your complexion. As for makeup, they try to be as minimal as possible with the hopes to create a natural healthy look. Literally <i>everything</i> I want.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">+ Last but not least, my ultimate goal for this year is to become more tidy. And, this applies to my studies as well - tidy in the sense of becoming more responsible and less procrastinative (is that even a word?). I actually like getting sh*t done and feeling like a powerful woman who can do anything. But, somehow napping gets the best of me (have you noticed how my About page picture is me sleeping?)</span><span style="font-family: inherit;">. So, my goal is to sleep more at night so I won't want to nap during the day. This way, I can also wake up </span><i style="font-family: inherit;">earlier</i><span style="font-family: inherit;"> and get more stuff done in the span of that day.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I really need to stop the procrastination cycle from getting any more intense or lasting any longer.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">What do you struggle with the most? I get a sense that we all are procrastinators who aren't even ashamed.</span><br />
<div class="sqs-block horizontalrule-block sqs-block-horizontalrule" data-block-type="47" id="block-yui_3_17_2_15_1483391034422_81999" style="-webkit-transition: 0.2s ease-in-out; box-shadow: rgba(128, 128, 128, 0) 0px 0px 0px 1px inset; clear: both; height: auto; outline: none; padding: 17px; position: relative; text-align: justify; transition: 0.2s ease-in-out;">
<div class="sqs-block-content">
<hr style="background-color: #bbbbbb; border: none; height: 1px; margin: 1em 0px; padding: 0px;" />
</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">These pictures literally have nothing to do with the text in this post. I'm trying to get in the habit of taking pictures for every post because this makes it look prettier and organized. It also gives it a little sense of cohesion (even though that does not apply here, lol). Nevertheless, hope you enjoy a creepy view into my dorm room...</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3ca6_AzoZNI/WI_WGgCk8yI/AAAAAAAABUo/txGaoOSr3VoS3Nwh9uTJK-aBm05Oxf8eACLcB/s1600/IMG_2267.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3ca6_AzoZNI/WI_WGgCk8yI/AAAAAAAABUo/txGaoOSr3VoS3Nwh9uTJK-aBm05Oxf8eACLcB/s1600/IMG_2267.JPG" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
I'm already obsessed with sheet masks and skincare; this is not new knowledge. I <i>love</i> to find new products to try out and I love it <i>even more</i> when brands reach out to me because they know my investment in skincare. It's weird because I get more excited about skincare than anything else in my life - and I'm pretty sure that's not right.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-20a9CDh_lSI/WI_WGksVy9I/AAAAAAAABUk/p65xlP7EAvEwfFKTOHCynSbkcHm2xqEKACLcB/s1600/IMG_2266.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="271" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-20a9CDh_lSI/WI_WGksVy9I/AAAAAAAABUk/p65xlP7EAvEwfFKTOHCynSbkcHm2xqEKACLcB/s400/IMG_2266.JPG" width="400" /></a>Regardless, <a href="http://www.viicode.com/index.php/">VII code</a> reached out to me to try out their <a href="http://www.viicode.com/index.php/gel-under-eye-mask-for-dark-circles-that-works.html">Oxygen Eye Masks</a>* targeting dark circles. As a committed student and resident of this world, I am not immune to dark circles because, let's face it, they're almost inevitable. There's many ways to avoid them, of course, by drinking tons of water, resting well (not more and not less than what is required, which I fail to do no matter how hard I try), being more active, etc. But, I'm constantly wanting quick, drastic results 빨리, so I'm hardwired to want things immediately. Sheet masks and, in this case, eye masks are convenient for people like me... and anyone, to be honest, no matter your lifestyle.<br />
<br />
VII code is a skincare brand committed to the myth of "ageless beauty" and they're an institution stablished from a beauty secret passed on through the generations, all the way back to the 18th century when Byrne Victor's "ageless mystery" was created and even brought upon Queen Josephine (Napoleon's wife). Ever since then, this ageless myth has been passed on in the family until they were able to create their own business and share their "formula" with the world. Cool, huh?<br />
<br />
These eye masks are part of a short-term treatment so, although you are not <i>required</i>, it is recommended to follow up your first box with another two in order to see long-lasting results. In order to see quick results, the masks should be put on twice or thrice a week.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BfLcn5Isudo/WI_VzRqFInI/AAAAAAAABUQ/T9GSDUi_hA4p33XOzEgYsDiU4TyW3W4kACEw/s1600/IMG_2253.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BfLcn5Isudo/WI_VzRqFInI/AAAAAAAABUQ/T9GSDUi_hA4p33XOzEgYsDiU4TyW3W4kACEw/s400/IMG_2253.JPG" width="265" /></a><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iGs3UYo47so/WI_WGnKlhWI/AAAAAAAABUg/ZwajE2XeB5op-0-R5ypVXHEDiur7kNmOQCLcB/s1600/IMG_2268.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iGs3UYo47so/WI_WGnKlhWI/AAAAAAAABUg/ZwajE2XeB5op-0-R5ypVXHEDiur7kNmOQCLcB/s400/IMG_2268.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It is true that sheet masks are not for lazy people... and I am a lazy people. But, why? Because, I find, there's so much commitment in opening the package, putting it on correctly, not eating / drinking / laughing for 30 minutes, <i>waiting</i> for 30 minutes, and carrying on with the rest of skincare afterwards. But, this eye mask (1) doesn't cover your mouth so you can <i>eat</i> and <i>talk</i>, (2) doesn't require precise application because it is literally just below your eye sockets, and (3) requires you to leave it on for a maximum of up to 8 hours so you can literally sleep in them and not worry about them until morning.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Why can you leave them on for so long? Although they look like normal cotton sheet masks, their effective side (the one that will stick to your face and do the work) is made of gel which will not resoak up all the hydration and nutrients transferred onto your skin, like cotton sheet masks would if you leave them for too long. The gel itself is very cool-feeling and sticks to your face firmly (meaning: it doesn't slide off) and this surprised me, both in a good way. I find that placing cool products or things under or on your eyes is so refreshing <i>and</i> effective so, I don't know about you but I keep mine in the fridge to make them extra cooler than they already are.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
However, my favorite concept of this is the fact that you get to wake up with brightened under eyes, regardless of whether you use makeup the next day or not. You effortlessly wake up looking refreshed (even if your body and soul are not).</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Please don't make fun of my face as I attempt to show you how cute these eye masks are. I've never posted pictures of my face on blogposts before mainly because I never had a reason why but, this was a good opportunity for me to just go with it and plaster my face on people's laptop / phone screens. I feel like Kim Kardashian [over-reacting].</div>

<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bWwHPvzwUXY/WIbEX0A7qPI/AAAAAAAABT0/IZ3_eA8bQXAXk58ji_VyP0IAff6lcSqfQCLcB/s1600/IMG_2243.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bWwHPvzwUXY/WIbEX0A7qPI/AAAAAAAABT0/IZ3_eA8bQXAXk58ji_VyP0IAff6lcSqfQCLcB/s400/IMG_2243.JPG" width="265" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Let's talk about the fact that I am <i>not</i> an actual City girl but have dared to come up with a post trying to give pointers / advice to those who are... Forgive me if I am completely off but I actually have a genuine concern for those who take a daily beating into the City jungle. There's nothing quite like it, really. And, although I do not live in the City, was not raised in the City, and do not take part of anything that the City entails, I grew up with people who have. This doesn't grant me ultimate knowledge that nobody else in the world has but I am not ignorant enough to disregard the fact that the City is cruel - not only mentally / psychologically, but physically.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Not only is there an endless amount of pollution (because of the buildings / factories / trucks), the sun is everywhere (even under the "shade" of a building). There's so many people smoking, there's even more cars that pollute the little air that fits between the streets. And, let's not talk about the free-radicals because we'll be here until morning.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I could be exaggerating; I have a tendency to do this often (and you can ask my friends - I feel like they no longer take me seriously sometimes). But, it's no joke to me at all. After reading a couple of articles and books about what it is like to live in the City, or somewhere near one, and what it does to your skin / health, I've given it some thought and taken the time to curate some products that will "protect" (to some extent) my skin. I'm a child (although not a little one) so I'm often told that I shouldn't worry about anti-aging products, or buying a ton of products that will end up pilling up onto my face and not work because "they don't have much to fix". Why fix when I can prevent, no? And that's the whole reason why I've decided to write this post.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Us3EdQmEf7g/WIbEXzM6npI/AAAAAAAABTw/rYeuzW105xYAOxtw8miSvv8IvI24ktCqgCLcB/s1600/IMG_2249.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Us3EdQmEf7g/WIbEXzM6npI/AAAAAAAABTw/rYeuzW105xYAOxtw8miSvv8IvI24ktCqgCLcB/s1600/IMG_2249.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b><i>DAILY.</i></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This is not much commitment. After all, the couple of things I do <i>daily</i> to protect my skin are <b>moisturize</b> and <b>SPF</b>. Seems simple but the fun (or tedious) part is finding the right one with the right ingredients. I did a Chemistry project last year where I researched all about <b>Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)</b> and its benefits on the skin while looking at primary articles and literature. Research shows that ascorbic acid protects the skin from UVA / UVB sun rays, lightens scarring, softens wrinkles, and adds "glow" into your skin (this is possible because it promotes collagen production in your skin and renews cells for a brighter complexion). (You see, cha girl's been doing her work!) Why is Vitamin C good for City girls? Because it protects your skin from early / premature aging, and helps you look brighter with less. Life's a blur when you live in a fast-paced place so, when you've got little time to take care of <i>you</i>, a product that does it "all" becomes your best friend. I like <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H582SGI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1">Valentia's Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer</a>* because it's not heavy and has everything I need.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I don't think SPF needs a huge paragraph explaining why it is essential in life, overall. So, I'm just going to say that I find Asian sunscreens to be more... user friendly? They're easier to understand, is what I mean (ironically). When a sunscreen indicates that it protects against UVA + UVB rays and it is 50+, it means it protects against all of the sun's evil rays in a way similar to when you find SPF 100. Also, PA+++ means it has awesome abilities when it comes to protection power (the more plus signs, the better). This is why I love <a href="http://www.wishtrend.com/skin-care/1134-aloe-soothing-sun-cream-spf50-pa-cosrx.html?a_aid=genburgos">COSRX's Aloe Soothing Sun Cream</a> because it is SPF 50+, PA+++; all of the things you want and need. Also, it doesn't <i>smell</i> like sunscreen (it's more like fresh aloe scented) but it is super nice and non-greasy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZKooJ9eEzbM/WIbEX8h4RKI/AAAAAAAABT4/tAtovfiq5GQ9mBDA6finu6ZAQZ5sq7S3ACLcB/s1600/IMG_2248.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZKooJ9eEzbM/WIbEX8h4RKI/AAAAAAAABT4/tAtovfiq5GQ9mBDA6finu6ZAQZ5sq7S3ACLcB/s1600/IMG_2248.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><strike>WEEKLY / TWICE A WEEK</strike>. WEEKLY OR JUST NOT EVERYDAY.</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This heading is a lie because I either not do this weekly or do it more than twice a week. The point is: these are things we should do <i>frequently</i> but <i>not everyday</i>. As an example, carbonated masks are great for pulling out impurities trapped deep inside your pores. This is good because they help detox the skin, and this should not be done daily because you could risk "stripping" the skin from essential anti-oxidants and good oils that are important for healthy skin. Because the mask fizzes, it becomes sort of like a massage but helps to <i>gently</i> exfoliate the skin. I currently possess two options of carbonated masks: <a href="https://www.masksheets.com/elizavecca-milky-piggy-carbonated-bubblle-clay-mask.html">Elizavecca's Milky Piggy Carbonated Clay Mask</a> (very popular nowadays!) and <a href="https://www.masksheets.com/neogen-code9-oxygen-aha-bubble-peeling-mask.html">Neogen's Oxygen AHA Bubble Peeling Mask</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bringing back the topic of Vitamin C, I own the most amazing serum that contains just the perfect amount of ascorbic acid to do its job while being gentle. I recommend this - eyes closed - because it is just amazing, and I've just noticed that it is getting the global recognition it deserves. The <a href="http://www.wishtrend.com/skin-care/1369-freshly-juiced-vitamin-drop-klairs.html?a_aid=genburgos">Klairs' Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Serum</a> is a godsend that makes your skin glow, helps with discoloration, helps diminish the appearance of pimples / acne, and helps your skin become more "resistant" (dare I say?) to sun rays.<br />
<br />
<b>+ Are there any products you've found to be on the A-list for City girls? For example, any lip products? I really have no clue and, as you can see, my list still needs to cover lip-protection so I would like to know!</b><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I'm Latina so I can't really make "What I Got for Christmas" posts and then talk about everything I got because people would get the wrong impression that I am spoiled. In catholic-prominent countries, we extend the Holidays all up until almost halfway through January, although in Puerto Rico they kind of last until the day before Valentine's day (let's be real). On January 6th we celebrate Epiphany, or the Three Wise Men day, and we celebrate it almost like Christmas and get/give presents. This is the main reason why I have many things featured in this post, and I also included things I bought randomly through vacations.<br />
<br />
I already wrote this in another post (read here) but I got a <b>mini Christie Carryall bag</b> from <b>Coach </b>for Christmas and I think I fell in love. It's black with gold hardware and I love it because most of my accessories, with the exception of my Tiffany necklace that I tend to wear everywhere, have golden detailing. It's sturdy and so compact; however, I can still fit my DSLR and lens in it and it works because I don't travel with much anyways.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BqodnX8mQbA/WHb16nJ8mRI/AAAAAAAABQc/zs7XoyY39SA4iN3hQ6AwkeoxA1oSbBVFwCLcB/s1600/IMG_2225.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BqodnX8mQbA/WHb16nJ8mRI/AAAAAAAABQc/zs7XoyY39SA4iN3hQ6AwkeoxA1oSbBVFwCLcB/s1600/IMG_2225.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
I got a blow-dryer and curler as my Epiphany gifts. I realized right before I came back from school that my blow-dryer was only blowing cool air (which is not very useful) so I had buying a blow-dryer on my to-do list for quite some time. So, naturally, I was super happy to get one as a gift and this one from <b>CHI</b> is super quiet but potent which is all I ever needed.<br />
<br />
Funny story with this curler is that, initially, my gift was a straightening iron but since my hair is naturally straight, I don't really need further "straightening" after lightly blow-drying my hair... so I exchanged it for a curling wand. This curling wand from <b>Revive</b> was so much cheaper than the straightening iron that I could buy a couple of other things, so I bought a <b>bareMinerals Illuminating Lotion</b> thingie (that I haven't really figured out yet, as you can see), and a <b>skincare set</b> from <b>Tatcha </b>which is a brand I've been wanting to try out for so long now. I guess everything turned out on my favor, right? (laughs) I received all of this from <b>Marshalls</b>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BPy3Qrw7It4/WHb1O-fOOWI/AAAAAAAABQM/KkqAxDdvgf4n8GoZ0kVbGG_6HOms1MI0gCLcB/s1600/IMG_2222.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BPy3Qrw7It4/WHb1O-fOOWI/AAAAAAAABQM/KkqAxDdvgf4n8GoZ0kVbGG_6HOms1MI0gCLcB/s320/IMG_2222.JPG" width="318" /></a><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a6efn4onGh0/WHb1dtWImSI/AAAAAAAABQQ/AdSEXAvqSdwGgoLKAJ1DqZY3MLtQNKlTwCLcB/s1600/IMG_2223.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a6efn4onGh0/WHb1dtWImSI/AAAAAAAABQQ/AdSEXAvqSdwGgoLKAJ1DqZY3MLtQNKlTwCLcB/s320/IMG_2223.JPG" width="318" /></a></div>
<br />
The list of things I bought over the break is almost never-ending. I mean, the pile of stuff I kept popping out to take pictures of shocked me so much and it's the main reason why I cry at night because I might not be able to go to BTS's concert (I'm kidding). I've been wanting a shadow palette for a while and specifically one that had like a taupe-purple color and I found the <b>TruNaked Roses </b>one from<b> CoverGirl </b>and I super love it. I haven't played enough with it but the colors are so dreamy and blend really nicely which is the most you can ask for in drugstore shadows.<br />
<br />
I bought quite a lot of skincare, starting with a <b>Bee Venom mask</b> (which is a really popular ingredient in South Korea, apparently), a couple of <b>belif Aqua Bomb</b> 100 points perk from Sephora, and a bunch of <b>sheet masks</b> from <b>Tony Moly</b>. I also bought a <b>brow-pomade</b> contraption thing from <b>L'Oreal</b> and a <b>waterline brush</b> from <b>Kiko Milano</b>. Also, I'm sorry I'm not listing the products and things I got properly, or linking them, but it's because I'm planning on doing review / makeup look posts in the future featuring these products.<br />
<br />
Lastly, I bought a <b>pink beret</b> from <b>Nordstrom</b> that has me head over heels.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pzKc3QbXBQM/WHb1f70em3I/AAAAAAAABQU/tP0022YJUl8EMv8JQyXWJxC8lbG4EHnDACLcB/s1600/IMG_2217.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pzKc3QbXBQM/WHb1f70em3I/AAAAAAAABQU/tP0022YJUl8EMv8JQyXWJxC8lbG4EHnDACLcB/s1600/IMG_2217.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="sqs-block horizontalrule-block sqs-block-horizontalrule" data-block-type="47" id="block-yui_3_17_2_15_1483391034422_81999" style="-webkit-transition: box-shadow 0.2s ease-in-out; box-shadow: rgba(128, 128, 128, 0) 0px 0px 0px 1px inset; clear: both; color: #424242; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; height: auto; outline: none; padding: 17px; position: relative; transition: box-shadow 0.2s ease-in-out;">
<div class="sqs-block-content">
<hr style="background-color: #bbbbbb; border: none; color: #bbbbbb; height: 1px; margin: 1em 0px; padding: 0px;" />
</div>
</div>
I keep listing and it just feels surreal to me how many things are in this list. But, beyond the material things listed here, I'm beyond satisfied and happy that I got to spend time with my family. I ate so much, which is almost incredible to believe because right before I left uni I wasn't eating well / at all so, I'm glad I got to pick up my appetite which is healthier than not eating at all.<br />
<br />
I've been working really hard to understand my camera! I've never taken photography classes before so I'm just taking tips from friends and family who have and I guess I just have to keep practicing. My editing skills are nowhere near what I want my pictures to look like and this stresses me more than not being able to understand my camera. I don't have any editing apps on my computer which I guess is a really big factor but, it's up on the wish list.<br />
<br />
Now with only one week left before college starts back again, my family is making sure to use me all up because I'm the only one who drives at home apart from my parents and, since they work, they usually need me to carry out chores or just get stuff done that needs more time or whatever. I don't mind, I actually like this because I get out of my house which is what I most like since I'm always trapped in my dorm room once I go back to school. Nevertheless, I don't want to go back! I mean, I'm home - I never want to leave home.</div>

<br />
I'm a person who likes to plan ahead of time. I also really like lists. I started looking forward into the year and looking at all of the things that will happen, things I have to do, things I want to do, and stuff that could inevitably happen, etc. Turns out, 2017 is going to be a really eventful year so it's not a bad idea to look forward and prepare for what's to come, right? Perhaps this post is boring but I guess it's just a glimpse into my life.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
+ I got a new camera at the end of last year so I want to learn how to take awesome photos... Not only of the products and things I will feature here but of the landscapes and places I'll visit.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
+ My sister and I are preparing for BTS's upcoming World Tour and, conveniently, they're having a concert in New Jersey so we're preparing / screaming / excited / fangirling / saving up ($$$) to the max for it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
+ There's a bunch of things I've been wanting lately so I made a list in Shoptagr that keeps piling up and growing and I'm scared I won't be able to sacrifice and save up for BTS... it's scary.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
+ I want to make my blog content better, more informative, while still being interesting. I like writing and, in the past, I tried to restrict my writing in my posts to the very minimal, purposely trying to be brief so that my readers wouldn't click out. However, I find that this made my posts very superficial and lacked information relevant to support everything I'm trying to claim. So, I want to work on this even if it takes me forever to finish my posts. #QualityOverQuantity</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<complete><br /></complete></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<complete>+ Along these blog-improvement lines, I watched <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgb6v2PUYX0">a video</a> that taught me so much of the value of a content-creator's work. I never thought of myself as a content-creator because I mostly contribute to this blog as a hobby but, regardless, that's literally what I am because I <i>create content</i> to post on this blog. Because of this, I want to be more picky when it comes to content, style, and brands I feature / work with for and on the blog.</complete></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<complete><br /></complete></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<complete>+ I have started to take an interest in other aspects of beauty such as haircare and nail design. Although I am NOT good at nail design, I plan on taking care of my nails more this year and hopefully go to nail salons whenever I can and get cute designs, etc.</complete></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<complete><br /></complete></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<complete>+ Finally, this is more for self-growth but, I want to change my style: style of living, fashion style, makeup style, travel style, studying style, etc. I am becoming an adult so I should think and act more like an adult and that's what I want to transpire onto the blog, as well.</complete></div>

I took these pictures when me and my family went to the recreational area of the Reserva Natural del Lago La Plata, which is the longest lake / river in Puerto Rico. My mom is pursuing her Master's degree on Environmental Science and she's doing some research on the water of this lake and, because I've been studying this whole time in the US, I haven't been able to see where her research begins so being here (for the first time!) was really breathtaking. It's too beautiful here.</div>

I really like trends. Especially because they're <i>trends</i> and don't last too long. I'm not big on social trends, though, (the mannequin challenge and dabbing are not my fields of interest at all) but anything fashion and beauty related, I'm all in.<br />
<br />
I'm a Sagittarius at heart which means I'm a free spirit and tend to change pretty frequently. I recently learned a lot about all of this horoscope shiz and realized how relevant everything is to my personality and everything I do. If I were to look back at the person I was 5 years ago, I wouldn't be able to recognize her - both physically and personally. I'm more confident and more independent now, with a lot of reason since I'm 20 years old already, not 15.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vTo8Yrs09V4/WG2mtDf2VFI/AAAAAAAABO8/lx9t9xccVNw2Ukc8Jo9EQFeYLZqNmExSwCLcB/s1600/IMG_2186.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vTo8Yrs09V4/WG2mtDf2VFI/AAAAAAAABO8/lx9t9xccVNw2Ukc8Jo9EQFeYLZqNmExSwCLcB/s1600/IMG_2186.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
I find that style changes <i>a lot</i> from New York to Puerto Rico. I definitely am more New Yorker in this sense because Puerto Rican fashion is very colorful - very adequate for the climate and weather. New York fashion is very monochrome and neutral, mostly all black, and it hits me right in the feels. I'm often made fun of because my outfits are constantly black-on-black, even in scalding weather. But hashtag #SorryNotSorry because that's just how it is!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VdcoHDclbDk/WG2msIyIHuI/AAAAAAAABO4/5ropkG5HBYEfuAEdwalUVB0itAwPHQCFwCLcB/s1600/IMG_2187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VdcoHDclbDk/WG2msIyIHuI/AAAAAAAABO4/5ropkG5HBYEfuAEdwalUVB0itAwPHQCFwCLcB/s400/IMG_2187.JPG" width="266" /></a>Recently, there's been this "hype" with dirty-pink shades. I wasn't bothered at first because colors don't really appeal to me. But, it's everywhere. And everyone and their mother keeps wearing it, using it, talking about it - I couldn't be left behind, right? (It even fits with the hues of my blog!) I like it because it's such a faint color that fits with all blacks, grays and whites. Also, the weather this season is so favorable for these shades, I can't resist. I already own a scarf, a beret and eyeshadow to compliment the outfit.<br />
<br />
Coincidentally, I found this <b>beret</b> in this pink shade at <b>Nordstrom</b> the other day and you would never imagine my excitement. Berets are also making a comeback this season so, finding one in this color felt like a jackpot to me.<br />
<br />
I also feel like cross-body bags are trending lately but, when are they not? They make life so easy because they restrict the amount of <i>shiz</i> I carry around (which is mostly unnecessary to me). Around Thanksgiving time, I noticed a bunch of girls carrying mini cross-body bags, mostly in black and with half-leather-half-chained straps, and this sparked yet another interest in me so I had to go get me a freaking bag. I went and bought a bag the very next day I made this conclusion, believe it or not, but I ended up returning it because, as a 20 year old who has to make mature-yet-perhaps-irrational conclusions/decisions, I decided to spend this money on a designer bag instead. I figured they're more durable and classic and never fall out of style so the splurge wouldn't hurt too much. I ended up getting the <b>mini Christie Carryall bag</b> from <b>Coach</b> as a Christmas gift and it made me super happy.<br />
<br />
Beauty wise, I <i>love</i> dewy skin. No, I don't mean sparkly, highlighter-sourced dew. I mean hydrated, moisturized, healthy, and glowy skin. I guess since we're in Winter time, we want the complete opposite of what we have, since this season really dries out the skin. I love taking care of my skin naturally so it doesn't bother me paying extra attention to achieve the <i>glow</i>. But, whenever I see skin that is so healthy that it flushes naturally, I feel the feels.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
What are some trends you love or want to try? I keep changing and would love to learn about new and/or international trends and move forward to new ones so help a girl out!</div>

Happy 2017!<br />
<br />
I don't mean to make an emotional, long-*ss post that takes up forever to think up but I think it's worth the effort... at least for this kind of post. I'm not a super eventful person, everyone knows this; if I don't have to do something, I will most likely not do it willingly. That being said, I did not have any obligations for making 2016 the best year ever so I didn't. Many things did happen, however, so I think it's worth recapping a few. But, overall, this year has not been what I expected.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dWszhlBazZQ/WGWJUEtGf9I/AAAAAAAABOE/kwcYp9slqokNW0cL9aXuVN3J1nuYf2ihgCLcB/s1600/IMG_2176.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dWszhlBazZQ/WGWJUEtGf9I/AAAAAAAABOE/kwcYp9slqokNW0cL9aXuVN3J1nuYf2ihgCLcB/s1600/IMG_2176.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Academically wise, 2016 has been my toughest year yet. I finished my second and began my third year of college which means my classes are getting tougher and more loaded and this reduces my amount of "chill" time drastically. I'm not proud of my academic achievements this year; I think I could have done a thousand times better but many things got in the way of this, including my health. I had great hopes of developing my blog over the Fall semester and actually trying to make it a "part-time job" since I was investing so much time in it. Turns out, my studies took over my chill time (all up to the point where I slept for 3 hours a night, two weeks in a row, multiple times in the semester) so I didn't have time to create content for my blog. I don't aspire to become an influential person from this, nor I aspire to actually make a living out of this blog, either. The main reason why I do this is because I love beauty, and fashion, and style, and learning about different trinkets and ways of living life. I'm slowly becoming an old woman (or an adult, however you wanna call it) so I'm interested in getting to know the ways to make life "work", in all its aspects.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Beauty wise, I walked outside of my shell this year and bought many products I thought would be impossible for me to even achieve to try out. I reached out into the "high-end" side of the beauty world and got to experience luxurious beauty for the first time - although I realize "luxurious" is relative to everyone. Never had I imagined of buying a $45+ foundation/cushion or buying skin care directly from South Korea worth over $50... but I did (don't tell my mom, though). I currently own enough products to make a complete 10-step skin care routine possible. I took some pics of my favorite finds and some products I kind of "resurected" from the vault. Literally, some days I can go out with just wearing a thin coat of the <b>IOPE cushion</b> because it makes my skin so bright and even. I've never found something like it. Also, the <b>brow wiz from ABH</b> is a godsend to me, I haven't figured out how to go on from it onto another product. The <b>Klairs serum</b> (I wrote a review <a href="https://theparadoxesofher.blogspot.com/2016/08/klairs-freshly-juiced-vitamin-serum.html">here</a>) is the one thing that revives my skin if it is dull or dry or even if I'm going through a breakout phase.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm very pleased with all the things I did learn this year, though. I discovered a really passionate love for Korean beauty and European style. I started learning Japanese and I still continue to learn it (specially thanks to my amazing friend Erika). We also went to Disney World over the summer, how could I forget! I got bangs, found out I have the biggest obsession with K-pop (more specifically BTS, where have I been the last 3 years of my life? Wait, I just answered this... I had no life because I've been in college for the past 3 years, duh), I cut my hair super short (no rAgrets), and a bunch of other things that made me grow as a person.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>In 2017</b>, I want to <i>get good grades</i>, firstly and foremost to anything else. I really want to make this blogging thing work. It's tough but nobody said it wasn't. I want to come up with a posting schedule and stick to it. Now that I have a nifty camera, I want to learn how to take amazing pictures, edit them, and make it look like I know what I'm doing (excuse this shitty one I took for this post, I'm still playing around and trying to figure out my photography style). I want to have good quality posts that are informative and educative, not just "pretty". I wish I can become more engaged on social media and gain more readership because I want internet friends *cries*. But, most importantly, since I turn 21 on 2017, I want to become more mature and less naive. I feel like it will be a year where I should put some effort into looking, thinking and acting like a grown-up.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year 2017! Should we put some effort into making it the best year yet?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
PS: I know I'm late but 생일 축하, 태태!! 사랑해!!</div>

Clarisonic)<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">* This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Clarisonic and Her Campus Media.</span></i><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M5BizJyQtwE/WAz31eGojYI/AAAAAAAABMI/KmmJ2KjBgo8UeWIh0C3L7bkasNtMSpQPgCLcB/s1600/IMG_20161023_134528.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M5BizJyQtwE/WAz31eGojYI/AAAAAAAABMI/KmmJ2KjBgo8UeWIh0C3L7bkasNtMSpQPgCLcB/s1600/IMG_20161023_134528.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Everyone already knows how big of a skin care junkie I am and have come to me asking what product is good for this, how can I do that, what do I need to achieve this, and the list of enquiries goes on and on...<br />
<br />
Today, I wanted to create a post addressing one of the most frequently asked questions I get on daily life: how to properly cleanse your face. As you may know, I am following the Korean ideology of beauty, simply because it makes a lot of sense to me and the results seem promising, so my cleansing routine is a little bit too much but I am guaranteed to get fresh and clean skin to go on with my other steps of the routine.<br />
<br />
You don't necessarily need <i>all</i> of the products/steps I include here but you can take note that all of them play a special role in cleansing my skin to perfection. Let's get on with the display, shall we?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2wsMh5_JnRo/WAz5i6oo8aI/AAAAAAAABMQ/sI1IxOmUyPUOUBYbmR4d6XHgP3J-Tf9rQCLcB/s1600/IMG_20161023_133530.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2wsMh5_JnRo/WAz5i6oo8aI/AAAAAAAABMQ/sI1IxOmUyPUOUBYbmR4d6XHgP3J-Tf9rQCLcB/s1600/IMG_20161023_133530.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
1. Micellar Water<br />
I don't use micellar water everyday because, unfortunately, the one I currently own is too harsh on me. However, I do like to incorporate this step whenever I'm wearing waterproof mascara because, although it doesn't remove everything in one go, it loosens up the mascara from my lashes so my other cleansing processes can melt it off with more ease!<br />
<br />
Featured product: Pearlessence Micelar Cleansing Water with soothing aloe (Marshalls)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h2Oqd34eOZs/WAz5u8r3G0I/AAAAAAAABMU/aPh3-NaQQFseOvEWuvov89H83VERcS7ggCLcB/s1600/IMG_20161023_133546.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h2Oqd34eOZs/WAz5u8r3G0I/AAAAAAAABMU/aPh3-NaQQFseOvEWuvov89H83VERcS7ggCLcB/s1600/IMG_20161023_133546.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
2. Oil Cleansing<br />
I love oil cleansing because, not only does it achieve to melt off every impurity off your face, it has beneficial vitamins and minerals that help your skin glow and become more hydrated while you're simply removing your makeup. I love the emulsifying feature of my oil cleanser because the oil gets washed away so you have the least amount of oil in your next cleansing step.<br />
<br />

<br />
3. Double Cleansing / Water Based Cleanser<br />
Double cleansing ensures that what you're going off to bed to, or starting the day fresh with, is a clean and sparkling canvas. The use of water based cleansers help to melt away any oil residue in your skin from oil cleansing, along with melting away any other impurities left behind. In this step, I love to use a tool to help me make sure I wash away all the sneaky makeup residue that's left behind, or sweat from the day that one can't see easily, and that's why <a href="http://www.clarisonic.com/facial-cleansing-brushes/mia-2-CL12.html?mc_cid=ab03ee9a50&mc_eid=360c006693">Clarisonic's Mia 2 cleansing brush</a>* is so useful during double cleansing.<br />
<br />
I've used Clarisonic's Mia 2 device* for around a month now and it fits so well with my routine. I use it everyday because just as effective as it is at removing makeup it is gentle, so I'm able to ensure a thorough cleanse everyday without abrasiveness. I never thought that the missing piece to my routine would be this cleansing brush, since it has achieved to improve the texture of my skin and even out my skin tone throughout the time I've been using it.<br />

<br />
I'm super happy because this cleansing routine, along with my other steps of my night-time routine, have helped me have the clearest skin I've had in a while... even though Fall is here and the weather has become harsh on my skin! I love how gentle and effective these steps are on my skin!<br />
<br />
If you're considering a Clarisonic system/product for yourself or as a gift, you can use the code <b>HERCAMPUS </b>at checkout at Clarisonic.com for 15% off your purchase before October 31st! Happy Fall, chingudeul!<br />

It's not just something that I'm imagining, right? You guys know I have a problem, right?<br />
<br />
Whenever I come back to college, or whenever I have the chance to chill around NY, I always fall in love with trends I see repeatedly around campus or along the streets. Today I just thought of sharing a few, since it's been a while since I've shared a lifestyle/fashion post here!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/4c/82/86/4c8286e122e7cfbc947debe8deac2b5b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/4c/82/86/4c8286e122e7cfbc947debe8deac2b5b.jpg" width="197" /></a><a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/de/29/b3/de29b32f18d80632a38a8f5ea8d8c243.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/de/29/b3/de29b32f18d80632a38a8f5ea8d8c243.jpg" width="212" /></a><a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/15/d1/8f/15d18f04f6477dc292cb4769ca1c7c41.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/15/d1/8f/15d18f04f6477dc292cb4769ca1c7c41.jpg" width="162" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I really like the <b>smart-style look mixed with some sporty elements</b>. I think it makes the outfit look very effortless but still shows that you're put together. Also, <b>white shoes</b> are the hype now. They make you look chic, no kidding. Oh, and also, I'm not even gonna talk about <b>black-on-black outfits </b>because they make the world go 'round (I also got shamed for wearing all black everyday by three random people last week which makes me wonder if I'm not pulling it off or if there's something wrong with the world. One of the two!).<br />
<br />
I think <b>culottes</b> are getting to me, as well. But, let's ignore that one since I haven't actually made any moves to actually buy one and waste all of my money... moving on.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<br /></div>
One day I woke up and I suddenly wanted a<b> tote bag</b>. I feel like they make you look busy, like if you have somewhere to go, and I'm totally into that type of life (that way, I can avoid people with more reason!). (I'm just kidding)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/15/2b/5e/152b5e787524205e836dbe424bf71a7d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/15/2b/5e/152b5e787524205e836dbe424bf71a7d.jpg" width="200" /></a><a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/e6/a6/a2/e6a6a2b340099bcd46ac54ab22506647.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/e6/a6/a2/e6a6a2b340099bcd46ac54ab22506647.jpg" width="200" /></a><a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/e9/67/25/e96725f368f82c6982fc241a59439a95.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/e9/67/25/e96725f368f82c6982fc241a59439a95.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
And, even though I'm into that monochrome outfit palette, I am dying to get my nails done at a Korean nail spa and get <b>cute designs on my nails</b> like those! It's weird but I love having girly, delicate nails which makes a huge contrast with my almost-tomboy-ish style, haha. <i>If any of you have ever been to a good nail spa and want to recommend one near the NYC-Manhattan area, please leave your comments down below!</i><br />

HAUL)<div>
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HU2m3AMixpI/V-HN8Pmc_3I/AAAAAAAABKI/DXM0VX_ca6ooR7ENzLzOxpyzN1Wfvld6QCLcB/s1600/IMG_20160918_145209.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HU2m3AMixpI/V-HN8Pmc_3I/AAAAAAAABKI/DXM0VX_ca6ooR7ENzLzOxpyzN1Wfvld6QCLcB/s1600/IMG_20160918_145209.jpg" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hate the fact that I'm only posting updates instead of beauty content but today I want to share what's been happening:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My phone, with which I take all of my blog pictures, died this past Monday and, ever since then, I've been MIA from all social media. This makes posting impossible because I had no way of taking my own pictures for you guys. However, I went to Manhattan on Saturday to get things fixed and I ended up with <i>another phone. </i>Because it's not my iPhone 6, I don't know how the pictures are going to look so I hope you guys forgive the lack of HQ in the mean time, while I save up all my money to buy myself a nifty camera!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also, because it's New York, I bought a bunch of things while I was walking around so I thought why not share my things as a haul with everyone. I don't know if this happens to you but every time I go to New York, I get hit by culture shock and I always end up wanting to have the style, accessories and things everyone is sporting in the streets. I don't know, just something I thought to share...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-468M-tcl0ZY/V-HN8NcjTSI/AAAAAAAABKQ/xUqHNiSrxqo6_UUUxOyvJ-Ttv3Y5XoEIwCLcB/s1600/IMG_20160918_145352.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-468M-tcl0ZY/V-HN8NcjTSI/AAAAAAAABKQ/xUqHNiSrxqo6_UUUxOyvJ-Ttv3Y5XoEIwCLcB/s1600/IMG_20160918_145352.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I never know how to organize myself whenever I go to New York so I end up walking way too much... way more than I should, at least. However, this time, I was determined. I read somewhere that there was an Aritaum store around Chinatown (which was the one closest/nearest to where I was at the moment) so I went on my journey looking for it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's a tiny little store but they sell a few of the most popular high-end Korean beauty brands like Laneige, 3CE, IOPE, etc. I really recommend going, especially to the location I went to (even if it's a bit hard to get there because there are no near subway stops, at Catherine St between Bowery and East Broadway) because the eonnis (lol at my Hangugeo attempt) that work there were so sweet and helpful. They worked very hard to match me with the right color of cushion foundation, they helped me find skin care options according to my skin type and they told me how to join their membership to get free cash back! I also received <i>so many samples, </i>I was super excited to get back to my dorm haha.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yrObA00TXx4/V-HOZZS5dWI/AAAAAAAABKg/d-r1ugOyjjI13wdbkYmc4V2UmtuA6DBFwCLcB/s1600/IMG_20160918_145510.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yrObA00TXx4/V-HOZZS5dWI/AAAAAAAABKg/d-r1ugOyjjI13wdbkYmc4V2UmtuA6DBFwCLcB/s1600/IMG_20160918_145510.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://amzn.to/2d9qbVj" style="text-align: center;">IOPE Air Cushion XP</a><span style="text-align: center;"> (My shade is N 23, Natural Beige)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also went a little clothes-shopping because fall is coming (that's a good enough excuse, right?). I stopped at Topshop looking for a black sweater (because somehow everyone in NY is wearing simple black sweaters and I wanted and <i>still want one</i> so bad) but ended up buying this <a href="http://us.topshop.com/en/tsus/product/clothing-70483/tops-70498/nibbled-tee-5853471?bi=0&ps=20">oversized "distressed" blue tee</a>. I really like it because the sleeves are somewhat long and reach my elbows which makes me feel like I'm wearing a sleeping shirt.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I then stopped at Uniqlo because ever since I found the <a href="http://www.uniqlo.com/us/product/women-ultra-stretch-jeans-173696.html#05~/women/jeans/ultra-stretch/full-length/~">perfect jeans</a> I have an obsession with the store. I realized that apparently it's a really Asian store because most people that were there with me at the store at SoHo were either Korean or Chinese. However, I found these <a href="http://www.uniqlo.com/us/product/women-s-ankle-length-pants-163829.html#09~/women/pants-and-leggings/ankle-length/solid/~">dress pants</a> that stop just at the ankles and they look more casual than dressy which I really liked for everyday wear in the cold weather that's coming.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-V5qDtMdtEZo/V-HN8177veI/AAAAAAAABKY/h-MELd1ZHoI7gMT3G3DDTxUmwUbzo3o8wCLcB/s1600/IMG_20160918_145751.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-V5qDtMdtEZo/V-HN8177veI/AAAAAAAABKY/h-MELd1ZHoI7gMT3G3DDTxUmwUbzo3o8wCLcB/s1600/IMG_20160918_145751.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In regards to my phone, I currently have a cheap Android that <i>kind of </i>replaces my iPhone. It works super similarly to iPhone so I don't feel like I miss it that much (which is what the salesman from my carrier predicted and that I would end up switching to Android once I can buy a proper actualized phone haha). But, for now, this will do until my contract is done. I'm happy and unstressed now so I hope to be able to bring you prompt content from now on!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm actually liking this natural lighting and editing on my pictures. I don't know about you guys, how's the pictures in the post? Do you enjoy them or should I work harder on them? Of course, quality cannot beat what I had been posting before so I truly apologize for that but hopefully, by the end of the year, I'll be able to bring you top quality pictures!</div>

It's kinda sad to think that Summer is over and that Fall is on its way to make my life more miserable than it is already starting to be. But, I like to be an early riser and prepare myself for the harsh winter weather that will most likely make its appearance sooner than later. That is why I have taken the task of finding a good, quenching moisturizer that will hydrate my skin sufficiently in order for me not to have any dry flakes or redness around my cheeks. Cue in <a href="http://www.sephora.com/the-true-cream-aqua-bomb-P394639?skuId=1686427&icid2=products%20grid:p394639">Belif's True Cream Aqua Bomb</a>--aka the mother of all moisturizers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">PS: I want to apologise for the tardiness of this post. My college life is consuming me slowly and I am being drowned with a bunch of school work and lab reports that I <i>still </i>haven't started but are due either on Monday or Tuesday (and it's Sunday today). I hope you guys don't mind but I'll be posting less frequently and on a different schedule (Wednesdays & Saturdays apparently work best for me) so I hope you guys are here to anticipate our new post of the week!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">PSS: Also, a bunch of new features and collabs are coming your way (which is part of why I'm so busy all the time). Please keep in touch!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
Ahem... now, back to the moisturizer.<br />
<br />
Whenever I come back to school from being too long back home in PR, my skin reacts so weirdly. I attribute this to the fact that the air in the US is so dry compared to the humidity in PR and I always have cracked, dry skin in those first few weeks of me coming back and during Winter time (in which the air is even drier). I am always looking for either a good humidifier to salvage my skin, or a great moisturizer.<br />
<br />
I recently learned that <a href="http://www.sephora.com/belif?icid2=product_link_brand">belif</a> is a cruelty-free Korean brand that, for the most part, can be found at Sephora. They have a complete array of skin care products; from toners, to sheet masks, to essences and everything in between. Their products are made with a bunch of natural ingredients, which is essentially the motto of their company. I was instantly drawn in, not only because the Aqua Bomb has gotten such amazing reviews but also, because their company stands for such great principles!<br />
<br />

<b>What are my thoughts?</b><br />
I honestly love this moisturizer. I appreciate the gel consistency, specially during these hot Summer times, because it feels really refreshing and sort-of cooling. It has a freshly-squeezed lemon-juice scent that smells so clean and nice. There's more to it, I mean, the scent isn't only just lemony, it's herby and clean... (Idk, I'm not that good with scents apparently). Perhaps this might bother some of you which is why I'm mentioning it but it is such a relaxing scent...<br />
<br />
As for the texture, it is a thick gel consistency that looks blue-ish on the container but applies clear onto the skin. It isn't sticky, for the most part, it just feels like a really cool gel "mask" that applies evenly and without a mess.<br />
<br />
I recommend using this moisturizer during the night, unless your goal is to look like a moist disco ball during the day, because it quenches your skin so much to the point where it looks like you're glowing from within (no need for highlighting or any sort)!<br />
<br />
The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it doesn't come with a reusable spoon so that you don't have to touch the product every time you use it but I recommend investing in one because (1) it makes your life easier and (2) maintains your product's freshness and purity for longer.<br />
<br />
It is an expensive moisturizer, and I am briefly aware of that. However, even though I am 19-going-on-20, I am starting to care more for my skin's health. This is why I have taken the task of engaging more into brands that provide more <i>quality </i>than quantity because it is what's most important for me now, and should be for everyone, too!<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>It's been real hectic...</i></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hey guys! Since we're already beginning September, guess where I am? *hint: I <i>heart </i>NY! It's time to go back to reality and accept the fact that I am starting my third and junior year at college so I'm not <i>quite</i> in NY since I actually study in NJ but, you get the gist, right? Every year is so stressful for me; this one is not an exception. This is why I wanted to create an update sort-of post to fill you guys in on what's going on in my life lately and how college is going to come into place with my posting schedule!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As I mentioned before, I'm starting my third year at college which means my classes are going to be harder and more fast paced than the ones I've taken previously. This only scares me more rather than prepare me but, it's all good. I'm taking all four science classes and working part-time so keeping up with my blog is actually at the very bottom of my list, to be completely honest with you guys. However, because I love doing this so much, I am doing my best to keep up with it and create awesome content for your guys!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I wanted to let you guys know I've made new social media for TPOH! We have our very own <a href="http://twitter.com/herparadoxes">Twitter </a>page and our own <a href="http://instagram.com/herparadoxes">Instagram</a> page at which you guys can comment, contact and also follow to be updated on any new posts and features on the blog. Also, I can talk personally with you guys rather than just <i>thinking</i> you guys read my blog and love it!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In terms of scheduling and posting, during the end of the summer I began to post trice a week but that's not going to keep happening for obvious reasons. I have decided to lower my load to two posts per week, Tuesdays and Fridays, because I feel like this keeps it interesting and entertaining for both you and me! I want to try and be consistent in promoting and posting on Twitter and Instagram although I reckon that that's going to have to happen during the weekends or on really impossible hours of the night/afternoon. I hope this doesn't bother you but I will try to give all my love for you guys as I can!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Please let me know about your adventures this summer! I wish you good luck on this new school year! xx</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The dupe you've been waiting for.</i></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
It's not a secret that brows are the big topic of the moment. You'd think that they would be old news by how fast trends are flying by these days but having a perfectly-arched brow that fits into the "on fleek" category has never been so <i>in</i>. I've been just as heavily influenced as the next beauty-obsessed person to have the perfect brows sitting across my forehead. Therefore, I've taken the job of finding the perfect tool for making this happen <i>super</i> seriously (I don't want to admit, but I've probably tried over 10 brow products, which doesn't sound too bad for any other makeup hoarder but <i>I DON'T HAVE THE BUDGET TO SUPPORT THIS *EXCLAMATION POINTS X 1000*!!</i>).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm one of those people that swears by the ABH Brow Wiz just because the formula is the most suitable to draw your eyebrows <i>in</i>, not <i>on</i>; also, the shade range is so diverse that there's always going to be a pencil color just for you. However, I'm also one of those people who can't spend $21 every now and then to have the perfect brows so I've taken upon me the task of finding a perfect dupe for <i>slightly</i> cheaper, if that's even possible.<br />
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Cue in NYX's Microbrow Pencil. Many people have said that this pencil is the perfect dupe for the Brow Wiz but I beg to differ <i>just a bit</i>. This is why I wanted to create this post to let you guys know how they compare and how they are similar because, if you're as concerned as me to find a replacement, you'll want to have your money's worth for quality, as well!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What are my thoughts?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
NYX's pencil has the exact same packaging as the ABH Brow Wiz but, instead of being black and gold, it is black and white. The color selection is pretty broad but, since you can't really try each shade and check to see if it fits your haircolor, it's difficult to find your perfect shade (hence the fact that I own two pencils in different shades). Price wise, it's pretty affordable. It's actually quite expensive for a drugstore product (around $11) but, compared to ABH's $21, it's doable.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Why 4 stars instead of 5?</i> The texture is pretty rough for a person with hairy brows (like mine) and it's quite difficult at first because you have to keep redoing what you already marked in order for it to show up. It's difficult for me to fill my eyebrows in because I have to keep pressing on them to have the product stick and look visible. Of course, this is in comparison to ABH's pencil which is super smooth and draws in nicely. What I'm saying is that, if you've tried the Brow Wiz before, you'll find that this pencil is quite rough but if you haven't been influenced yet, <i>this pencil is probably the best one yet</i>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would totally recommend this pencil if you can find a shade that fits you. It's super accessible because it can be found at Walgreens, Walmart, Target, online, etc. I find that the shade Espresso fits my eyebrows since my hair and brows are almost black themselves and this shade is pretty cool-toned which doesn't make your brows pop out of your forehead (which is something I try to avoid). However, the shade Ash Brown is the ideal shade to make faux freckles! It's so curious and totally not the purpose of the pencil but this shade gives freckles that natural, barely-there look.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Have you guys given this pencil a try? Did you love it?</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have you ever read a book that taught you so much and looked so good that you could even use it as a coaster for your morning coffee (sounds mean but hear me out) along with just re-reading it about 20 times until you can recite it by heart? If you have then you have just hit jackpot on life. If you haven't, let me present to you the one book that has made me re-think the way I think about skin care and culture altogether.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As you're reading this, I am getting ready to take a plane and fly back to New Jersey to start my <b>third and junior year at college</b>. I'm still 19 and am starting my second to last year of my bachelor studies... I'm really just stupidly baffled. But, this is not what this post is about! It's been a while since I last made a lifestyle kind of post and there's so many things happening in my life I could make a thousand lifestyle posts but I somehow neglect my life and just run on beauty and skin care without hesitation. Without further ado, let me take you on a magical skin care ride.</div>

<a href="http://amzn.to/2bJkPy0">The Little Book of Skin Care: Korean Beauty Secrets for Healthy, Glowing Skin by Charlotte Cho</a></div>
If you love all things gwiyeowo / kawaii / cute, you will love this book. Cho tells the story of how she moved from California to Seoul because of a job opportunity but was struck so hard by culture shock that she had to write a book about it! While she tells stories about her adventures in Korea, she also shares the importance of skin care in a culture obsessed with perfection and beauty. As you guys know, I'm a #kbeauty obsessed so all the contents of this book are mesmerizing for me. But, along with it having the most interesting content for a beauty junkie, it is so cute to the point of drawings and colors and sketches and ugh, adorable.</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I think this book is like a college course on Korea and Beauty. KBeauty 101, if you have to give it a name. It had such a serious impact on me, especially the SPF pep-talk, that I start nagging and ranting at my mom about daily UV protection. Heck, even watching the Rio Olympics I was yelling from my couch at how the tennis players better be bathing on SPF. I love how she introduces the Korean 10-step as the most amazing thing ever invented and the details down the many reasons why you should try it out and never skip it because it is the very promise of beautiful skin and remaining young for longer!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I love how Cho talks on such a level that it doesn't make you feel like an outsider learning about something you're not welcomed to. She talks as a girl who barely knows about Korea and starts introducing it to you as if you both were walking hand-in-hand, giving you tips along the way, and giving you time to catch up with new information she might have just dropped on you. It keeps you coming back to keep discovering the many ways you could and <i>should</i> be taking care of your skin.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
In addition, I love the little culture chapters she adds because, if you're ever in the need to get away and chose South Korea (more specifically, Seoul) as your destination, the book acts as a tour guide of the best places to hang out or grab a cup of coffee. She talks about how people might treat you, what things are taboo for Koreans even at this century, and also talks about the things you might see at Korea that you might not find anywhere else. It is truly a captivating masterpiece.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Yo! Photography skills are improving, huh?</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here I am again with another mascara review for y'all. I really enjoy mascara reviews because I have an obsession with finding out the best mascara out there. As you read from <a href="https://theparadoxesofher.blogspot.com/2016/08/too-cool-for-school-escalator-mascara.html">the last mascara review I did</a>, my search is very very close! But, because my budget and lifestyle are restricting me, the research is proceeding at a really low pace.<br />
<br />
Today, I'm talking about <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007RZDDO6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B007RZDDO6&linkCode=as2&tag=genburgos-20&linkId=396c5c5683bf29ed1ea2646d0231f850" nbsp="">Jordana's Best Lash Extreme Volumizing mascara</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="//ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=genburgos-20&l=am2&o=1&a=B007RZDDO6" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" width="1" />. This mascara really called to me because it is so inexpensive! The tube was around $5. I've always tried to stand by the principle that cheap things don't necessarily indicate cheap quality so the price never bothered me (or my wallet). I've given this mascara a ton of try-out time because you can see that I first had this mascara since Spring Break back when I did a <a href="https://theparadoxesofher.blogspot.com/2016/03/spring-break-haul-2016.html">huge haul post</a>. Here I'll let you know all about it because it's made an impact on me, not necessarily positive though.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What are my thoughts?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had such high hopes for this mascara because I actually bought this mascara out of a recommendation from KathleenLights on YouTube. She swore by this mascara because it gave her a really voluminous look just for a small price. That really sold me! However, I had a really different experience with it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Firstly, this mascara has a really strong green tea scent to it and it really punches you on the face because it hits you once you pull out the wand from the tube, drive the brush up your eye, and also still after you're done with the application. It doesn't last all day, though. Secondly, this mascara does absolutely nothing for my lashes. I see no volume, I see no curl, I don't even see a long-lasting look that stays all day. It really is such a shame. The final look it gives me is so minimal looking that it just seems like my lashes are still wet from my shower (sounds mean but it's the most honest review I can give)!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Therefore, in this case, I have to conclude that the price is a real representative of its quality. I've had the same experience whenever my lashes come into contact with natural bristle brushes so, it doesn't really surprise me that this was the final outcome. Hopefully, if you have a good experience with natural bristle brushes or with this mascara, do let me know! Maybe it's just supposed to be good for some and not for others!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Have you tried this mascara? What was your experience with it?</div>

I have to admit that I always feel weird whenever I make a post about my own personal interests or things that happen in my life because, to be honest, it is super rare for me to share things about myself so freely and willingly. I especially think it's weird to talk about favourite blogs because they say a lot about you and your interests. It's all the irony of the blogger, huh? However, today, I'm sharing my favourite people with you because they inspire me a lot and they have amazing/breathtaking content on their blogs. They truly make me wish my blog was as good as them! Please enjoy them and show them a lot of love~!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://theklog.co/" target="_blank">The Klog</a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love everything that The Klog has to offer. The Klog is a Korean beauty, fashion, style, culture blog. They also run <a href="http://sokoglam.com/">SokoGlam.com</a> which I've previously featured on the blog. I especially love how they encourage every aspect of the Korean beauty regime: from the 10-step skin care to facials and spas. They also bring other beauty topics such as the benefits of green tea or the basis of Korean trends. I simply love it because I learn so much and am there browsing around daily.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I discovered the Lovely Complex because Sachie is a YouTuber and I used to watch her a lot prior to finding her blog. Now, I love to read what she has to say every now and then because we both love anime, beauty and travel. She's also an amazing cosplayer and shares her stories on her blog. She's like the cool girl I've always wanted to be but find so far away to reach.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Love Taza is a popular lifestyle blog that I love because Naomi's life is the life I wish I could attempt to have when I grow up and have a family. Her children are amazing and so beautiful, her adventures around NYC/the world make me want to go everywhere, and she is so pretty! I just love everything she shares! I follow Gray Aesthetic because I am basically in love with Taylor on instagram (@tayloroctober). Her blog is very minimalistic and simple; she doesn't' have too many words to say. However, the brands she features, adventures she shares, and ideas she writes about are so inspiring! She really inspires me to find ways to be a better person, how to be more economical and minimal in my life, and also have a more detailed eye!</div>

<br />
Skin care is such an important part of anyone's life. Recently I got schooled on the beauty benefits of vitamin C. Did you know this little sucker can lighten dark spots, prevent sagging and brighten your complexion? And, if this wasn't all it could do, it also regulates your skin's sebum production so acne can be reduced overtime! You can not only get your dose of vitamin C orally by eating citruses and drinking orange juice; you can also add it physically into your beauty regimen. Therefore, being the beauty junkie that I am (self-proclaimed, of course), I went on the lookout for the perfect serum to help me indulge.<br />
<br />
As I <a href="https://theparadoxesofher.blogspot.com/2016/07/soko-glam-mini-haul.html">mentioned a couple weeks ago</a>, I got myself some products from SOKOGLAM and the <a href="https://sokoglam.com/products/klairs-freshly-juiced-vitamin-c">Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Serum</a> was included in that mini haul. I'm currently obsessed with Klairs because, not only are they a cruelty-free brand that makes affordable products, they make sure that every product they sell is suitable for sensitive skins. I, myself, don't have sensitive skin (my skin type is normal) so potential irritators do not phase me at all. However, I feel happy to use Klairs' products because I haven't really exposed my skin to many chemicals so gentle products steal my <span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "helvetica neue" , "helvetica" , "ヒラギノ角ゴ pro w3" , "hiragino kaku gothic pro" , , "meiryo" , "ms pゴシック" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">♥.</span><br />

<br />

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hbGelht3mxo/V5lcxj_ktBI/AAAAAAAABBI/RUeHk21sjBYfvizDxtsxxt_RFSY3pcs9gCLcB/s1600/IMG_2554.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hbGelht3mxo/V5lcxj_ktBI/AAAAAAAABBI/RUeHk21sjBYfvizDxtsxxt_RFSY3pcs9gCLcB/s1600/IMG_2554.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Rate: </b><span style="background-color: white; color: #626566; font-family: "georgia" , serif; font-size: 13px;">★</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #626566; font-family: "georgia" , serif; font-size: 13px;">★</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #626566; font-family: "georgia" , serif; font-size: 13px;">★</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #626566; font-family: "georgia" , serif; font-size: 13px;">★</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #626566; font-family: "georgia" , serif; font-size: 13px;">★</span><br />
<b>What are my thoughts?</b><br />
I always feel excited to put on this serum because I absolutely love the packaging. To me, it looks so legit and clean (#aesthetic, am I right); also, very hygienic. The product doesn't have any particular scent, other than a slight chemical one that you can only notice if you sniff directly through the hole of the bottle (which, you know, was the first thing I did).<br />
<br />
I should tell you, however, if you haven't tried any vitamin C serums before, the product <i>will</i> feel warm on your skin; it's the way you know it's working (for real). Klairs' serum felt warm but not burning, and this sensation lasts for about half a minute every time I wear the product until it is absorbed by my skin (also a sign that my skin is pretty normal as sensitive types would probably feel this a tad stronger).<br />
<br />
Just this week was my time of the month and usually I'm greeted by a couple zits which I've learned not to touch and wait for them to leave slowly. Since I've been wearing this serum, these pimples have dried up within two days and the "scarring" they leave behind is so light and progressively <i>still </i>fading that it truly impresses me. It has also help fade a couple of "scars" (I use quotation marks because they're not really scars, just slight discoloration) that I had previously from other times-of-the-month.<br />
<br />
I've been using this serum for the past month and it has not made me break out once; on the contrary, my skin has been behaving so neatly and it looks so bright and glowy (even without makeup!). Also, no redness other than the one immediately after I tap it gently onto my skin. One thing, though, is that I don't think you have to apply this to your whole face, just places where you think you need it most.<br />
<br />

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m_hhjyGTC3s/Vra2PN_z-zI/AAAAAAAAAis/64NiIGvsUS0xHBWySHysyq0RjM_fPQtrACPcB/s1600/image1-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m_hhjyGTC3s/Vra2PN_z-zI/AAAAAAAAAis/64NiIGvsUS0xHBWySHysyq0RjM_fPQtrACPcB/s1600/image1-2.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Skin care
isn’t just about creams and makeup removers. Skin care goes way beyond that.
Unfortunately, magazines and the media have taught us that skin care is
something that only the most unfortunate souls (those people with strong acne
and skin care concerns) should bother with. The truth is, everyone should
be caring for his or her skin, no matter his or her skin type! We can care for
our skin by changing and doing many things that do not involve our hands touching
our face but many of us don't know how far we can go or should go before we stop at a dead end without knowing where to turn. So, today I wanted to share a few tips about things we should look out for when dealing with skin care!<o:p><br /></o:p></span><br />
<ol>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>NOT ALL PRODUCTS WILL SUIT YOU</b>: Even
if the product we bought recently is made to target that specific skin concern
we have, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will suit with our skin’s composition.
One can be allergic to some ingredients, or they might be too harsh on us, and
this should work as an indicator that we should look for a more gentle,
yet effective product.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>EDUCATE YOURSELF</b>: It is important
that we learn about the things we put on our skin/face, and what they do to
us. Just because the product we </span><i style="font-family: inherit;">really</i><span style="font-family: inherit;">
want is the Holy Grail for somebody else doesn’t mean it’s going to be ours,
as well.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>SKINCARE INVOLVES HEALTHY EATING, AS
WELL</b>: The foods we consume have a lot to do with how our skin behaves naturally, along with how it reacts to our
products. By regulating what we eat and
incorporating healthier foods to one's diet, we will actually help not only our body be healthier but our skin, too!</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>IF YOU'RE INTO NATURAL PRODUCTS, STAY AWAY FROM PARABENS</b>:
Organic, natural products are more encouraged than those products
that we buy in a fancy bottle, since they are free of preservatives that could be potentially dangerous for the skin. Although the studies performed so far don't reveal negative results (for lack of specifics), parabens are essentially chemicals you place onto your skin (aka something unnatural)</span><span style="font-family: inherit;">.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>CHECK YOUR SLEEPING ENVIRONMENT</b>:
Change your pillows often and, if possible, treat yourself to some silk
pillowcases (</span><i style="font-family: inherit;">so fancy!</i><span style="font-family: inherit;">) as these
prevent our skin from wrinkling or marking while we’re sleeping.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>INVEST ON PH STRIPS</b>: Here’s why: we mix so many
products on our skin that we don’t really know if these end up doing worse for
us. The more acid (lower) the pH is, the more prone to acne and oiliness you
are. The more basic (higher) the pH is, the more prone to dryness and
irritation you are. We want products that neutralize our skin (close to a 7 on
the scale) because that means it will balance and calm down our skin!</span></span></li>
</ol>

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BZyQCxqPgbg/V5lBrJCC3SI/AAAAAAAAA_o/wO665ycU_HYaRlVAFafuHyJHDj4dz8-GACLcB/s1600/IMG_2564.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BZyQCxqPgbg/V5lBrJCC3SI/AAAAAAAAA_o/wO665ycU_HYaRlVAFafuHyJHDj4dz8-GACLcB/s1600/IMG_2564.JPG" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
No matter your personality or style, mascara is the one thing we all love to use to <i>boost</i> our looks from time to time (c'mon, it's true, even if you <i>hate</i> makeup). Let me tell you, finding an awesome CF mascara is harder than it looks (might be a bit harder than finding Pikachu on Pokémon Go <i>tsk</i>). Some mascaras work for a bit, some others dry up too quickly (I'll bring you the <i>guilties</i> in upcoming posts) but, <a href="http://www.sephora.com/dinoplatz-escalator-mascara-P399204?keyword=too%20cool%20for%20school%20escalator%20mascara&skuId=1733070&_requestid=314962" target="_blank">TCFS's Escalator Mascara</a> changed the game for me and hopefully it'll change it for you, too!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><a href="http://toocoolforschool.us/" target="_blank">Too Cool For School</a> (TCFS) is a super cool and fun Korean brand that's based in NYC but follows all Korean beauty trends.</b> Incidentally, I was bound to be interested. They cary makeup products along with some skincare, too! I haven't tried anything else from them, to be completely honest, but their packaging and concept are so interesting that it'll make that change soon enough.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This mascara claims to do it all: volume, length, and curl! The wand side has a twisty cap that makes the wand scrunch up like an accordion; if you twist it off, it gives you length and curl, if you twist it together, it gives you volume. It's washable, but claims to give you long-lasting effects.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TKt7cg55Z1Q/V5lEM0Ov_fI/AAAAAAAAA_0/cjGxJWUgOOs7wpHowe7tsNL95pGQUv2ogCLcB/s1600/IMG_2565.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TKt7cg55Z1Q/V5lEM0Ov_fI/AAAAAAAAA_0/cjGxJWUgOOs7wpHowe7tsNL95pGQUv2ogCLcB/s1600/IMG_2565.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_-CN38hITa4/V5lEhrB4TpI/AAAAAAAAA_4/48BELI85z28I66TBqFDvDqoEuizRghakwCLcB/s1600/IMG_2566.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_-CN38hITa4/V5lEhrB4TpI/AAAAAAAAA_4/48BELI85z28I66TBqFDvDqoEuizRghakwCLcB/s1600/IMG_2566.JPG" /></a></div>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;">It's a tubing mascara, meaning that it should be removed carefully with warm(ish) water, but you'll see no smearing or makeup melting off your face because it literally comes off as black little tubes.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">What this means is that the mascara provides more hold of your curl, length, look, etc. If you cry or get caught in the rain, your mascara won't melt away unless you rub your eyes!</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">The escalator is a $25 CF mascara you can find at Sephora, Korean online stores, or at their website.</li>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What are my thoughts?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Like I said before, finding a good CF mascara is one of the hardest tasks ever but I think we finally nailed it. I personally love this mascara because it really does curl my impossibly-straight lashes for the longest time possible. It's economic for a mascara sold at Sephora, and it makes me feel excited every time I wear it!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Why do I give it 4 stars instead of 5?</i> After the mascara dries up, and I start blinking normally again (because, you know, you don't wanna ruin your mascara while it's still wet), it feels very solid/heavy on my lashes and, sometimes, I feel like it impales my inner waterline. If I'm careful enough and not bring the wand close enough to my lash line when I apply the mascara, it dries up perfectly and I have the best day ever. But, I blame this all on the fact that it is a tubing mascara so it keeps building up after each application so each coat gets thicker with each brush swipe. Can be easily avoidable but still a bit annoying enough to lose a star :(</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have you given the Escalator a try before? Have you guys found any other awesome CF mascaras? Let me know!</div>

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3joIwl6jHNk/V4EGibezapI/AAAAAAAAA4s/d5f-FmZjlOU4JvxCBCfL7tyfsqsngqRpQCKgB/s1600/IMG_2353.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3joIwl6jHNk/V4EGibezapI/AAAAAAAAA4s/d5f-FmZjlOU4JvxCBCfL7tyfsqsngqRpQCKgB/s1600/IMG_2353.JPG" /></a></div>
The short answer is <i>yes</i>! The longer answer? Well, I'm glad you asked...<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm a skin care enthusiast-obsessed-freak... should I go on? Even though I aspire to live a really simple and unattached/minimalist lifestyle, there are aspects of my life that I cannot bring myself to be simple about; those include my health care and skin care. I might not be (more like <i>am not</i>) the poster girl for minimalist skin care but I've educated myself so much that I have been able to conclude an answer to what are the best and most important steps to do towards achieving a well-rounded skin care routine without being too aggressive about the amount of products used in the process. Here's my list of recommended steps to follow:</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Please keep in mind that I am not an expert and, although these are just my suggestions, each person is different</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">and should cater to their own personal needs. I do not intend to imply that this is the correct way to do skin care, at all.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; white-space: pre;"><span style="font-size: 12px;"> </span></span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; white-space: pre;"> </span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; white-space: pre;"><b>+</b></span><b> </b><span style="text-align: left;"><b>Makeup removal</b>: I probably sound like yet another one of those beauty bloggers that keeps nagging about this but removing your makeup *slash* cleansing your face at the end of the day is </span><i style="text-align: left;">so</i><span style="text-align: left;"> essential for </span><i style="text-align: left;">so</i><span style="text-align: left;"> many reasons: it prevents premature aging, it removes dead cells, it refreshes your face, it </span><i style="text-align: left;">removes</i><span style="text-align: left;"> your makeup off your face, etc. There are many products that can get the job done as well as multiple steps that we can layer to get the thoroughest clean possible. However, it's up to you! Doesn't matter how lazy you are, how expensive the products are, how rare, holy grail, familiar or any-other-scenario the product is, there <i>will</i> be something for you.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; white-space: pre;"> </span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; white-space: pre;"> </span><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="text-align: start; white-space: pre;">+ T</span>one</b></span><span style="font-family: inherit;">: Why do we tone? That's an amazing question. Cleansing usually strips our skin from a bunch of essential oils, and resets the natural pH level of our skin. In order to get everything back in track, a <i>refresher</i> (also known as toner) is in order. Refreshers are also really good to prevent acne, close open pores, rehydrate your previously-striped skin, and balance the pH of your skin (which is the essential trait of the toner). Some toners have the ability to reduce redness and sebum production, which is also really important for some people and further calms our souls and lets us know there's a product for everyone!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; text-align: left; white-space: pre;"> </span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; white-space: pre;"> </span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; white-space: pre;"><b>+ </b></span><span style="text-align: left;"><b>Serum/Spot treatment</b>: This step is actually optional but, for anyone who is concerned with </span>anti-aging or acne or dehydration, etc, this is a great time to include any extra special care to your complexion. Serums are an awesome way to boost up your complexion and add vitamins/antioxidants for a youthful, healthy skin.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; text-align: left; white-space: pre;"> </span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; white-space: pre;"> </span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; white-space: pre;">+ </span><b>Eye cream</b>: Some wise person once said that the eyes are the gentlest, most delicate part of your face; with the same pickiness we should take care of them. As a sleepless college student, I am very concerned with puffiness and redness and tiredness and so forth... eye creams have helped me with that (along with improving my sleeping and eating habits, of course). Why should you add an eye cream to your routine? They have the potential to create a smooth canvas for your eye makeup, they can prevent wrinkles prematurely, they can brighten your complexion, they can add more vitamins to your skin, should I keep going?</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; text-align: left; white-space: pre;"> </span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; white-space: pre;"> </span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; white-space: pre;">+</span> <b>Moisturise</b>: I'm not the first person, nor the last one, to say that moisturising is the key to beautiful, healthy skin. The thing I love about moisturisers is that, well, they're amazing. After I experienced the harshness of New Jersey winter, my life changed and I have never been without a moisturiser again. Moisturiser can act as a "shield" in the sense that you should wear it last so that it locks everything you've done to your face so far but keeps other dirt away from entering this "coat". </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; white-space: pre;"> </span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-family: "helveticaneue"; font-size: 12px; text-align: left; white-space: pre;"> </span>+ <b>SPF</b>: Sun protection does not necessarily need to be included in a night-time routine but should be important, if not essential, in our everyday makeup/morning routines. Just as moisturiser is the key to healthy, glowy skin, SPF is the key to youthful, untouched, flawless skin. UV sun rays have the ability to <i>mark</i> our skin, along with potentially giving us skin cancer if we are exposed to them for too much. I've learned that UV rays are an amazing source of vitamin D, which is essential for bone strength and myelin synthesis for our neurons (I'm getting a little MD over here, let me get back on track), but there's nothing a little supplement can't do so it's completely worth protecting for!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As you can see, there <i>is</i> a way to make your skin care regime minimalistic. There are many ways in which you can personalise your skin care routine, skipping or adding steps from the ones mentioned above. Remember that everyone's skin is unique and you should find whatever fits best with your complexion, lifestyle and budget!<br />

Where the hell has my summer gone off to? I realise I've spent so much time doing nearly nothing that I actually feel pretty sorry for myself. But, through all the chaos and nonsense, I still have so many things to report that I cannot even contain myself. Might as well just start because it ain't gonna get any easier.<br />
<ul>
<li>What is even <b>Pokémon Go</b>? Literally, this app is the only thing that had the power to get me out of my house in order for me to find new Pokémons... is that even healthy? (I'm not even going to go there, forget I just asked that) If it wasn't for this, though, I wouldn't have found out that those flowers up top were blooming in my yard (<i>so pretty</i>).</li>

<li>There's this Starbucks drink from the secret-menu called <i>green tea frappuccino with java chips</i> and you should try it if you 1. love matcha lattes, 2. love frappuccinos, and 3. want to try the best thing in the world.</li>
<li>I'm not even going to make an introduction for this (because I'll sound annoying af) but I'm in love with BTS. Taehyung is my bias and Yoongi is the <i>ultimate</i> bias-list wrecker (in my mind, I have been cheating on V with Suga; it's that intense of a feeling).</li>

<li>I finally dyed my hair! My hair was dyed in a way I like to call an "unintentional" ombre since it essentially became an ombre from my lack of motivation to dye my hair. Finally, I decided to get rid of the "yellowish" tones by dying the hair that was previously dyed back to a color similar to my natural one. I'm in love with it, though. I'll reveal soon.</li>
<li>Yesterday was my baby sister Mia's birthday and we had a blast. It's funny how generations change because she just turned 11 and got her first phone ever (an iPhone 6S, <i>what</i>).</li>

Hopefully I'm not leaving anything out but, that's all the things I've been loving/obsessing over during this past month (and probably further back). Surprisingly nothing beauty related--so weird. I have so many things planned for the time to come: I've decided on a schedule time (yet again) but this time will be consistent (I promise) every Tuesday & Friday at 10 am, like I've been doing for the past week or so...<br />

<br />
So, I might just place an emergency alarm all over the place because my skin care products have been slowly but effectively coming to an end. To my utmost nightmare, it's happening for like 3 products at the same time; ain't nobody got money for that! Luckily for me, I happened to stumble upon an economic Korean beauty online store that happened to supply all of the products I need to satisfy my obsession; <a href="https://sokoglam.com/" target="_blank">SOKOGLAM</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
From the creator that brought us <a href="https://theklog.co/" target="_blank">The Klog</a>, <a href="https://sokoglam.com/" target="_blank">SOKOGLAM</a> is a lovely online store that provides anything you should need to complete a 10-step Korean skin care, some tools you can add to your beauty routine, makeup, and everything in between. I think it's safe to say I'm in love with <a href="https://theklog.co/" target="_blank">The Klog</a> so, my interest in <a href="https://sokoglam.com/" target="_blank">SOKOGLAM</a> is a bit biased. However, I should tell you that their service was amazing; I got my package within 3 days from placing my order and everything came perfectly packaged, safe and with samples!<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I was excited to get this serum because it is one of the top sellers/recommended/bought products at their website, and its reviews promised so many things. <a href="http://klairscosmetics.com/" target="_blank">Klairs</a> is a brand that focuses on making products that are sensitive-skin friendly. I love brands that have gentle products since I haven't really exposed my skin to many harsh chemicals before. This serum has a 5% vitamin C concentration which means it will be gentle on even the most sensitive skins.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you follow Jenn @ clothesencounters via YouTube for a while (like me), perhaps you noticed that she bought this sheet mask from one of her trips to Korea. When I saw how lovely it looked, I suffered. I just had to have it. Luckily, <a href="http://sokoglam.com/" target="_blank">SOKOGLAM</a> carried three versions of it but I decided to settle on the calming one because there's nothing better than a calming product that can help balance out whatever is out of shape. <a href="https://www.banilaco.com/" target="_blank">Banila Co</a> is the infamous brand responsible for the <a href="https://sokoglam.com/products/banila-co-clean-it-zero?ref=yotpo_93" target="_blank">Clean It Zero</a> cleansing balm but, above all, I was really intrigued by it because their products are often called Holy Grails all over the place.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bOd6nrGkVeY/V5lX6N9nr_I/AAAAAAAABA4/AuQV69NIzjAQ8GnEBJRqhVP_NjGysTx6wCLcB/s1600/IMG_2560.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bOd6nrGkVeY/V5lX6N9nr_I/AAAAAAAABA4/AuQV69NIzjAQ8GnEBJRqhVP_NjGysTx6wCLcB/s1600/IMG_2560.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
And as for samples? I received two <a href="https://sokoglam.com/products/missha-time-revolution-night-repair-new-science-activator-ampoule-flat-sample" target="_blank">Missha Time Revolution Ampule samples</a> that I have yet to try. They are including Missha samples with every order right now so, take advantage of that and get yourself some skin care!<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm so excited to try these products out and report back with a small review for each of them!<br />

I'm getting to that point where all of my skin care products are reaching their end and, to my utmost nightmare, it's happening for like 4 of them at the same time. Skin care products are expensive! So, it doesn't really hurt that much to dream about the products I wish I could have in my little "beauty box", as I like to call it. And, let's not talk about the fact that I really wish I could upgrade a ton of my blog's aspects and buy myself a new wardrobe for next year's school year *bites nails anxiously*. Here, enjoy the sight along with me, pretty please?</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3OntHQ4aV_o/V451TuigRlI/AAAAAAAAA9A/artTWROgJC02Vu7YgJR0dEayC7LBLOH6gCLcB/s1600/IMG_2424.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3OntHQ4aV_o/V451TuigRlI/AAAAAAAAA9A/artTWROgJC02Vu7YgJR0dEayC7LBLOH6gCLcB/s1600/IMG_2424.JPG" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">When trying
to pursue a minimal lifestyle, looking for the least amount of products that
can do a bunch of things at once is like hitting the jackpot. But, it’s not
only ideal for those who are seeking to live a more simple life, it is </span><i style="font-family: inherit;">beneficial</i><span style="font-family: inherit;"> for everyone! The more
organic (or natural) the products you include in your skin care routine (or
life, overall), the healthier you will look and be. </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">I’ve taken
the serious task of looking for at least 3 products that we can add to our skin
care routines that are economic, effective, and multipurpose. Here’s what I
found:</span><br />
<br />
<ol>
<li style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>COCONUT OIL</b>: It’s no secret that
coconut oil is like stardust for our skin. The amazing thing is that it is </span><i style="font-family: inherit;">incredibly</i><span style="font-family: inherit;"> multipurpose. I use it as a
cleansing oil to remove all of my waterproof makeup, but you can use it as </span><u style="font-family: inherit;">hair
mask</u><span style="font-family: inherit;">, </span><u style="font-family: inherit;">natural teeth whitener</u><span style="font-family: inherit;">, </span><u style="font-family: inherit;">face mask</u><span style="font-family: inherit;">, </span><u style="font-family: inherit;">moisturizer</u><span style="font-family: inherit;">, </span><u style="font-family: inherit;">body
lotion</u><span style="font-family: inherit;">, </span><u style="font-family: inherit;">cooking ingredient</u><span style="font-family: inherit;">, etc. It serves its purpose and it is so
economic; a full-sized bottle lasts up to a year for me and I pay around $9!</span></li>
<li style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>WITCH HAZEL</b>: Many don’t actually
know about this one but witch hazel is amazing for burns and swelling; it’s
actually an ingredient in aftershaves(;)! Because of this property, witch hazel
is amazing as a toner because it helps reduce redness overtime, along with
hydrating the skin and controlling oil. Back home, we actually call it “Agua de
Maravillas” which literally means “wonderful water”; talk about 100% naming
accuracy.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>GINGER</b>: I love ginger! Not only is it </span><i style="font-family: inherit;">delicious</i><span style="font-family: inherit;">, it has way too many
anti-aging properties that fight against free-radicals, even skin tone and
promotes elasticity. Ginger also has antioxidant properties that help fade
scars so it is perfect for dark spots left by acne. I prefer to make up a
ginger tea latte but if you mix up ground ginger + honey + lemon juice, it
works as a perfect brightening + anti-aging mask (because, here's the thing: ginger works both on your skin as well as inside your body)!</span></li>
</ol>

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yMwipQ1o_uU/V4aanZqMutI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/QyhK5ALX0Pgyl86it6eA4X7cf2J4PPa9wCLcB/s1600/IMG_1506.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yMwipQ1o_uU/V4aanZqMutI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/QyhK5ALX0Pgyl86it6eA4X7cf2J4PPa9wCLcB/s1600/IMG_1506.JPG" /></a></div>
One of the things that we often forget about when thinking and going through a CF shift is our makeup tools and brushes. That is why today I am sharing with you one of the best tools I have found yet while in this journey of beauty hunting. Not only is the Miracle Complexion Sponge by Real Techniques a CF alternative and awesome product, it is also affordable and makes your life super easy.<br />
<br />
<b>Why would a sponge make my life easier?</b> Firstly, this sponge can work in a diverse amount of ways. It can be dampen and used to mix and apply wet products such as foundation, concealer, and cream contour/blush, making the application more moist and dewy-like. It can also be used dry to apply powder products for baking or spreading the product evenly. The structure of the sponge is advantageous because the flat side can favor the bigger areas of the face and baking, while the pointy side is awesome for the corners of the nose and inner corners of the eyes, as well.<br />
<br />
<b>PROS:</b><br />
+ It is super soft and fluffy; makes for an even application.<br />
+ Doesn't trap too much of the product since it helps use up all of the product placed on it.<br />
+ Helps make the application process so much faster and minimal! I can apply foundation, concealer and set my undereyes in one go.<br />
+ It's very affordable and accessible; they are sold at the drugstore and are a super convenient CF option.<br />
+ It gives a super lovely dewy/glowy finish since it adds moisture to my foundation/concealer and helps me not have too dry eyelids by the end of the day.<br />
+ Cleans thoroughly (in comparison to another sponge I used from essentialtools that, even though I kept adding the cleansing product, the makeup was still <i>glued</i> to the sponge), and quickly!b<br />
<br />
<b>CONS:</b><br />
+ They are high-maintenance in the sense that they need to be cleaned for often than brushes.<br />
+ Not super accessible for those people who do their makeup on the bus/subway/car as they work their best when they are damp.<br />
+ Breaks easily (?); since I've had mine for less than 3 months and a chuck of the flat side already fell off (although I blame it on my roughness when cleaning it).<br />
